Officially Refired

Wherein our dreams came true…

Manderley Cottage
est. 5/29/13
Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

It has been our long time dream to own a second home, and after 20 years of dreaming and planning we, on our 20th Wedding Anniversary, received a  contract on this little cottage.  According to tradition, I believe we were supposed to give each other China or platinum, but went with wood. Himself and I both love what we do and plan never to retire, so we are calling this our Refirement Home, a place to rest, refocus, and refire. Manderley, of the famous novel Rebecca was set aglow at the hand of Mrs. Danvers, and we hope our little place does not meet the same demise, but will glow with Light instead.

“Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again.”

We are blessed and grateful.

To continue the theme, and as Snuffy Smith would say, “Great balls o’ fire!” 😉

Congratulations on the anniversary and the house. That is all fantastic news.

What a beautiful cottage it is, too.

Will it have a red kitchen? Called Little Red Kitchen, or BRK2? 😀

No doubt it will be wonderful, and I wish many happy, healthy, joyful years there for you all.

Nope, it’s not red:) But it is very cute and much smaller than BRK. Thank you Coconut! We are very excited!

Congratulations and welcome to Williamsburg! I’ve been a blog follower for awhile but haven’t commented 🙂 My husband and I have just moved to Williamsburg (as in this past Sunday) with our 2 little boys. I’ve never been here before but it looks like such a great place to live. Again, congrats and happy anniversary!

      Howdy Neighbor,
Let’s do coffee sometime! We love it down there and had been visiting for the last 20 years and have been to every Grand Illumination for the last 13 years. So it has been a dream to live there. Hope your move is going well!
