“Pasta Party” and BRK’s First Giveaway Provided by Bertolli

Contest Closed. Congratulations Cheryl F.! You won! I will contact you via email.
Thanks everyone for participating in my very first giveaway.

I have had Italian Cuisine on my mind lately. After my quick trip to Boston’s North End last week and eating Italian food at about every meal, I got to thinking that I need to get back to my roots and cook it more often. Then a funny thing happened, Bertolli contacted me to host my own “Pasta Party” much like the celebrities Marisa Tomei, Rocco DiSpirito, and Dan Cortese during their visit to Tuscany. This particular webisode “The Secrets of the Pollaio” has them visiting a famous egg farm then to a local restaurant to make homemade Lasagna. Bertolli has created an entire series called “Into the Heart of Italy” which after watching, will have you booking a ticket to Italy or purchasing more Bertolli products.

Look at that! Isn’t she a beauty all shiny and RED? How did Bertolli know RED was my favorite color? Wink. They not only sent me this Imperia Pasta Machine, they sent me…

This gorgeous Emile Henry 12.5 Quart Lasagna Baker too…

AND a coupon for a free Bertolli Frozen Meal for two that will transport you to Italy in just 10 minutes. This entire gift is worth $125. How could I resist? This is BRK’s very first giveaway and I jumped on it since it was such a generous offering. I would love for one of my readers to win these gifts and create delicious homemade lasagna in their own kitchen.

Just look at this beautiful meal my friend, our children, and I created the other night. This completely made from scratch lasagna was absolutely delicious and you know what? She and I completely “winged it” but adding a pinch of this and a tad of that. I think it is one of the best lasagnas I have ever made. And the secret ingredient…

Orange rind. I will post the lasagna recipe next week but for now why don’t you just go ahead and comment to win these generous gifts worth $125:

1. Imperia Pasta Machine- color may vary
2. Emile Henry 12.5 Quart Lasagna Baker- color may vary
3. A coupon for a free Bertolli Frozen Meal

Simply leave a comment telling me:

Bertolli provided all those wonderful gifts for me and I am very grateful. They will provide these gifts to the winner of this giveaway as well. Thanks Bertolli.

Lasagna has got to be my favorite, and it's mostly because my son adores it, so it makes me happy to be able to make it for him!

My favorite Italian meal is by far Spaghetti and Meatballs… so simple yet so delicious. This meal is something that I would make with my Grandma and my mom growing up… I know my kids will help me one day roll the meatballs and make the sauce. My 10 month old loves my meatballs- he can't eat them fast enough.

My absolute favorite is fettucini alfredo. It's so warm and comforting and creamy (and fattening!). I don't have it very regularly at all, so it's a treat when I do.

What a great giveaway. And if I don't win, I just may have to put the pasta machine and the dish on my birthday list!!

My favorite meal is homemade raviolis ! I am 100% Italian so pasta is literally in my veins….LOL Growing up my Grandma made all her pasta from scratch and I remember her huge wooden drying board which was put on the bed so all the pasta could dry.

That is a remarkably generous giveaway. I've never made pasta before, but that looks like a serious piece of gear that could get me to take the plunge. OK, I have made ricotta dumplings before and a failed gnocchi, but never any long pressed out pasta.

Favorite Italian dish, hmm. That would be this pasta dish I had in Verona. I was on business with a couple coworkers, one being an Italian. He ordered for us and we got this lovely pasta with a buttery sauce with shaved truffles. My coworkers piled on the cheese and wondered why I didn't. I said "truffles" and they smacked their heads.

The meal ended with a cheese plate and an after dinner drink of Jaggermeister. That was one great meal.

My favorite is homemade gnocchi– there are endless variations you can do with the dumplings and the sauce (I think my personal favorite being sweet potato gnocchi) so it's always fun to come up with new ideas.

I would love to win this. My favorite pasta dish is pasta puttanesca with fresh home grown jersey tomatoes. I posted the recipe on my blog a long time ago. I love the depth of flavor and of course home grown tomatoes steal any show. Thanks for the chance to win. I'm going to go tweet this @jerseybites to my 3000 followers. Probably ruin my chances of winning but oh well.

One of my favorites is Eggplant Parmesan just because it was one of the first meals my dad taught me how to make.
