Five Easy Holiday Foodie “Meet Cutes”
“Yeah, is that your Corvette?” I asked hoping that hot little silver Vette was his. It was a match made in heaven over wheels.
Well here are some surprisingly delicious and simple Foodie “Meet Cutes” to make all your Holiday Entertaining easy…
1. First off. The photo up top is one example of my most favorite Entertaining Rescue- Mascarpone Cheese plus Whatever! Mascarpone blended with equal amounts of Biscoff Spread (Cookie Butter), Peanut Butter, or even Nutella are not only deliciously sinful but so easy to tuck down into Fillo Cups, top mini cupcakes, or even as a dip for cookies.
2. Wensleydale with Cranberries and Ginger Snaps– My CrossFit Partner Dave taught me this one. This combination will remind you of a creamy cheesecake. Pair with Rosa Regale and your night is complete.
3. Devils on Horseback– My friend Maggie introduced me to these smoky-sweet bites that are a snap to whip up before guests ring the bell.
4. Manchego and Membrillo- Manchego is a firm but buttery textured cheese from the La Mancha region of Spain made from the Manchega breed of sheep. Membrillo is Quince Paste, the traditional mate to this addictive cheese. Beautiful on your cocktail table, and my new favorite “Meet Cute.”
5. Eggnog and Ginger Ale– Eggnog is very rich for my taste, but when bubbly ginger ale or ginger beer is added, it’s like the corniest “Meet Cute” of them all. Give it a try with a sprinkle of fresh nutmeg and a puff of whipped cream. It may make you say things like, “Here’s lookin’ at you kid,” or “You had me at Hello,” or “No, I don’t think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That’s what’s wrong with you. You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.” Be still my heart.
